NEW ORLEANS – When the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its NCAA Division II preseason national rankings last week, The College of Saint Rose men’s and women’s cross country teams each found themselves among the top-10 teams in the East Region. Both squads are making their fourth straight appearance in the preseason poll.

ALBANY – Jesse Schmid, a junior on the men’s golf team at The College of Saint Rose, was awarded The Congressional Award Gold Medal in Washington, DC this past June. Today, Saint Rose President Dr. R. Mark Sullivan acknowledged Schmid in front of the entire campus community with a special presentation as part of President’s Day at the College.

ALBANY – Cathy Cummings Haker, Director of Athletics and Recreation, has played an instrumental role in shaping athletics at The College of Saint Rose, and now, the Softball Field at the new Christian Plumeri Sports Complex is named in her honor. Former Saint Rose student-athletes Judy Calogero ('80) and Karen Manor ('81) enlisted fellow student-athletes to raise funds and surprise Haker with the field naming, recognizing her as someone who has played a significant role in their lives and in the life of the College
