ALBANY – Freshman guard Andre Pope of The College of Saint Rose has been honored by the Northeast-10 Conference as its men’s basketball Freshman of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 7. This marks the second consecutive time that Pope has been so honored.

NEW HAVEN – The College of Saint Rose women’s swimming and diving team had its best finish ever and sophomore Vadim Yafayev was named the men’s Most Valuable Swimmer at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships that concluded tonight on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University. The Saint Rose women’s contingent took second place among eight competing institutions, while the men’s team finished third among seven squads.

NEW HAVEN – The College of Saint Rose women’s swimming and diving team set four more school records and had two student-athletes obtain NCAA provisional qualifying standards throughout the second day of competition Saturday at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships that are being hosted by Southern Connecticut State this weekend.

SPRINGFIELD, MA – The College of Saint Rose men’s basketball team opened the game on a 16-2 run and led wire-to-wire in a 79-63 Northeast-10 Conference victory at American International College this evening. The Golden Knights (12-10/9-8 NE-10), who shot better than 50.0 percent (51.0) from the floor for the fifth time in six games, also generated a 25-9 margin in second chance points after outrebounding the Yellow Jackets 46-25.

SPRINGFIELD, MA – The College of Saint Rose women’s basketball team was held to a mere six field goals in the second half that contributed to its worst scoring output of the year in a 60-44 loss at American International College this afternoon. The Golden Knights (11-11/10-7 NE) furthermore shot a season-low 27.1 percent (16-for-59) from the floor, including a 2-for-15 effort from the arc.

NORTHAMPTON, MA – The College of Saint Rose men’s indoor track and field team swept all three relay events to spearhead a third place finish among 13 teams at the Smith Tartan Invitational that was held on the campus of Smith College today. Meanwhile, the women’s squad had two student-athletes record first place finishes to help the Golden Knights take fourth among 15 competing institutions.

Nolan Gymnasium. The Golden Knights (11-10/8-8 NE-10) furthermore forged a split of the regular-season series between the two clubs after the Greyhounds (10-11/7-9 NE-10) took a 90-78 triumph in Worcester back on November 18.

Nolan Gymnasium tonight. In the process, the Golden Knights (11-10/10-6 NE-10) avenged a 64-58 setback in their league opener at Assumption back on November 18.
