SAINT ROSE COMPETES AT IC4A/ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

BRONX, NY – The College of Saint Rose was represented by four student-athletes at the predominantly NCAA Division I IC4A and ECAC Championships that were held concurrently today at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The meet marked the 2008 season finale for the Golden Knights.
Junior
Melissa Bredice broke her own school course record by covering the 5k trek in 20:14. She finished 84th overall and second among NCAA Division II competitors in a field of 234 runners. Senior
Joanne Smith was 135th overall with a 20:49 clocking.
As for the men, freshman
Macky Lloyd ran the second swiftest time by a Saint Rose male harrier at this particular venue. Lloyd completed the 8k layout in 27:39 to wind up 104th among 235 entries. Meanwhile, freshman
Brandon Madigan crossed the line 195th with a 29:22 clocking.
Both individual winners sported University of New Hampshire jerseys. Freshman Elizabeth Campbell broke the tape in 18:26 in the women’s race, while senior Nick Decrescenzo paced the men’s field with a time of 25:31.
