ALBANY –
Ryan Brauer swept the weekly awards from the Northeast-10 Conference this afternoon as The College of Saint Rose rookie was tabbed Men’s Swimming Athlete and Freshman of the Week. It marks the fourth time this season Brauer has earned a spot on the league’s weekly swimming and diving report.
Brauer posted victories in the 100 butterfly and the 400 freestyle to lead the Golden Knights men’s squad in a 121-62 loss versus top-ranked Wayne State on Friday at the Naples, FL YMCA 50-meter pool. Brauer swam the 100 fly in 1:04.98 and recorded a 4:29.12 clocking in the 400 free. He closed out his afternoon as part of the winning 400 medley relay quartet that posted a time of 4:34.85.
Brauer, who is just midway through his rookie season, owns four school records. He swam a meet record and national “B” cut time in the 400 IM at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships back in December after hitting the wall in 4:05.92. Brauer has also established school marks in the 200 butterfly (1:55.44), the 500 free (4:43.55) and the 1,000 free (9:56.28).
