Amanda Morano and senior right-hander
Nicole Welch have both garnered third-team All-League accolades from the Northeast-10 Conference in recognition of their outstanding performances this past season. The teams were voted upon by the conference’s 15 head coaches.
Morano, a first-team pick a year ago, had eight multi-hit games and wound up batting .287 (31-for-108) with a team-leading 21 RBI and 18 runs scored for the Golden Knights (15-23/11-17 NE-10). Morano also belted six home runs and recorded a .519 slugging percentage.
As for Welch, the local product finished 10-12 with a 2.93 ERA and 97 strikeouts throughout 126.2 innings of work. She came into her own throughout the latter part of the season when she went 8-2 with a 1.13 ERA over her final 10 appearances. She also fanned 47 batters and walked only 13 during that stretch.
