ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose was represented by three student-athletes on the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Reports that were released today. Sophomore
Caitlin Peterson received NE-10 Co-Swimming Athlete of the Week honors, senior
Kevin Jackson was named the men’s Track Athlete of the Week and
Briana Del Bene was chosen as the women’s Field Freshman of the Week.
Peterson won five individual events to help the Golden Knights take all three of their dual meets last week. Peterson touched first in both the 50 and 500-yard freestyles in respective times of 26.74 and 5:21.57 at Queens on Wednesday. She picked up a pair of victories in the 100 and 1,000 free in a 121-78 win versus Saint Michael’s on Saturday. Peterson stopped the clock in 55.85 to take the 100 and registered a 10:52.72 clocking in the 1,000. She was part of the 200-yard free relay quartet that went 1:43.42 and also won the 500 free in 5:19.90 in a 137-102 victory at Bentley on Sunday.
Jackson was responsible for two winning times, including a school record in the 55-meter dash, to lead the Saint Rose men’s squad at the Williams Invitational on Saturday. Jackson bettered his own mark in the event with a preliminary time of 6.61, which was preceded by a finals time of 6.63 that led to a victory. He also crossed the line first in the 55m hurdles in 7.81. Jackson was furthermore 10th overall in the long jump behind a leap of 6.12-meters (20 feet, 1.00 inches).
Del Bene set a school standard in the weight throw behind a second place distance of 11.78-meters (38 feet, 7.75 inches) at the Williams Invitational. She also wound up sixth in the shot put with a toss of 9.17-meters (30 feet, 1.00 inches).
