YAFAYEV NAMED NE-10 MEN'S SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Vadim Yafayev has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 24.
Yafayev registered three individual first place performances throughout a pair of dual meet victories over the weekend. Yafayev swam a winning time of 2:03.75 in the 200-yard butterfly and finished the 200 backstroke in 2:02.83 to help The College of Saint Rose upend visiting Skidmore on Sunday. On Saturday, Yafayev took the 200 IM in 2:01.62. He was also a member of the 200 free relay team that swam a first place time of 1:32.02 as Saint Rose clipped host Adelphi 48-47.
Yafayev, who earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 400 individual medley at last year’s NCAA Championships in Houston, will lead Saint Rose at the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference Championships that are set for February 5-7 at Southern Connecticut State in New Haven.
