POPE HONORED AS NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Andre Pope of The College of Saint Rose has been honored by the Northeast-10 Conference as its men’s basketball Freshman of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 31.
Pope averaged 12.0 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 steals last week for the Golden Knights (10-10/7-8 NE-10). He had 12 points, six assists and a pair of thefts in an 88-67 loss at #12 Bentley on Tuesday. He then filled up the box score with 12 points, six helpers and five steals in Saturday’s 76-64 setback versus Stonehill.
Pope is one of four Saint Rose players averaging double-figures on the year. He is tossing in 12.2 points on a regular basis and leads the squad with 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals per-game. He is furthermore shooting 40.0 percent (38-for-95) from the arc and has been in double-figures scoring 14 times.
The Golden Knights are home again Wednesday when they host Assumption in a key NE-10 contest. Both squads are locked in a four-way tie for ninth place. The second half of the conference doubleheader is set for a 7:30 pm start, with the respective women’s teams scheduled to get underway at 5:30 pm.
