ALBANY – Five student-athletes and both The College of Saint Rose men’s and women’s teams have been selected as recipients of the 2009 NCAA Division II Cross Country All-Academic Award from the
U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Katie Rossettini and freshmen
Emma Cohen,
Liz Dalia, and
Dana Welch were honored from the Golden Knights women’s squad, while junior
Tyler Gantz was recognized from the men’s club.
Additionally, the Saint Rose men’s team boasts a Northeast-10 Conference best 3.35 (4.00 scale) collective grade-point-average. The women’s squad owns a 3.30 cumulative GPA. This furthermore marks the second consecutive year that both teams have been so recognized.
Cohen has a 3.50 GPA and earned All-Conference accolades at the NE-10 Championships after finishing 20th among 158 entries. Welch, who owns a 3.28 GPA as a communication sciences and disorders major, was 24th at that meet, while Dalia and Rossettini wound up 46th and 54th respectively. Dalia sports a 3.65 GPA as a childhood/special education major and Rossettini owns a 3.32 GPA as a math adolescence education major.
A chemistry major who owns a 3.55 GPA, Gantz was 58th among 136 participants at the NE-10 Championships and was the third Saint Rose runner across the line with a 55th place showing among 180 entries at the NCAA East Regional Championship meet.
To qualify for All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least 12 semester/quarter hours through the semester of competition at the institution to be eligible. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and have placed in the top 30.0 percent of the total number of athletes eligible to compete at the respective regional championships, or in the top 50.0 percent of the field at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships.
