FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The College of Saint Rose suffered a 3-2 loss at Nova Southeastern late Tuesday evening in a game that was delayed more than 90 minutes due to poor field conditions that resulted from rain during the previous 24 hours.

The host Sharks (8-9) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first before the Golden Knights (1-8) manufactured a run in the fourth that ultimately came from a sacrifice fly off the bat of senior catcher John Cole. Nova Southeastern (8-9) responded with two runs in the home half of the frame that proved to be enough as the evening wore on.

Saint Rose got a run back in the eighth after freshman right fielder Scott Hladik stroked a one-out triple to right field and then came across via a Sharks error. However, Nova Southeastern pitching managed to set the next five Saint Rose batters down in order en route to the win.

Hladik and senior shortstop Zachary Halloran had two hits apiece to pace the Golden Knights attack, while junior shortstop Luis Penate drove home both of the Sharks runs in the fourth via a two out, two-run single to the gap in right-center.

In a late game Monday, the Golden Knights fell 11-5 to Mercyhurst in Palm Beach. Halloran went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Junior outfielder Garret Keenan finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored, and senior outfielder Derek Marshall wound up 2-for-5 with a double and a pair of RBI for Saint Rose.

Up Next, the Golden Knights have an 11:00 am game versus Concordia in Boca Raton on Thursday, while the Sharks are scheduled to host St. Thomas (FL) at 6:00 pm Wednesday.
