ALBANY – A quartet of student-athletes have signed national letters of intent indicating their plan to participate for The College of Saint Rose women’s volleyball team this upcoming season. The four arrive from various parts of New York State, including the Long Island and the Rochester areas.

The group is comprised of outside/right side hitter Emily Felter (Auburn, NY/Auburn), outside hitter/defensive specialist Christina Strezenec (Merrick, NY/Calhoun), middle hitter Alex Gagliano (New Windsor, NY/Cornwall), and defensive specialist Ashlee Upchurch (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua).

Felter was a first-team All-League pick and a team captain for Auburn last fall. She also plays for XTREME Volleyball Club, while Strezenec comes out of Club Ace Long Island (CALI). Gagliano, who plays for KAEPA Whoosh Elite Volleyball Club, helped lead Cornwall to the 2009 New York class “A’ state finals, while Upchurch is Felter’s club teammate who furthermore guided Canandaigua to the 2009 New York class “AA” state championship.
