ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose has announced its men’s soccer schedule for the 2010 season. The Golden Knights will play their inaugural campaign on the Dr. R. Mark and Kathleen Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex. Saint Rose will participate in 18 regular-season contests, 13 against Northeast-10 Conference opponents, with 10 dates on its new home synthetic turf surface.
The Golden Knights will host league members New Haven, Saint Anselm, Assumption, Franklin Pierce, UMass Lowell and Stonehill. They will travel to Saint Michael’s, Merrimack, Southern Connecticut State, Bentley, American International, Southern New Hampshire, and Le Moyne.
The non-conference slate is comprised of home dates versus Concordia, Mercy, NYIT and Saint Thomas Aquinas; along with a road match at Queens.
The NE-10 Tournament is scheduled to get underway with quarterfinal action on Tuesday, November 2. The semifinals are set for Friday, November 5 with the league championship match on tap for Sunday, November 7.
Four teams on the docket advanced to last year’s NCAA Tournament including national semifinalist Le Moyne. The Golden Knights will visit the Dolphins on Tuesday, October 26 in Syracuse. Saint Rose also heads to Southern Connecticut State on Tuesday, September 28 in New Haven and visits defending NE-10 regular-season champion Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, October 16 in Manchester. Franklin Pierce comes to the Capital Region on Saturday, October 9.
The 2010 campaign gets underway on Saturday, September 4 when Concordia arrives for a 6:00 pm date under the lights. Saint Rose opens conference action three days later with a 4:00 pm match at Saint Michael’s in Colchester, VT.
The Golden Knights close out the month of September with three dates at home and three on the road. They then play six of their 10 October matches at the Plumeri Sports Complex.
