ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose has announced its men’s and women’s basketball schedules for the 2010-11 season. The two teams will play their home games on-campus at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

Saint Rose will encounter 22 Northeat-10 Conference games with home and home series versus Assumption, American International, Adelphi, Pace, New Haven, Southern Connecticut State and Le Moyne. The Golden Knights will also host Franklin Pierce, Saint Anselm, Merrimack and Bentley; and will travel to Saint Michael’s, Southern New Hampshire, UMass Lowell and Stonehill.

The men’s squad will host the season-opening NE-10 Challenge that is presented by the Hilton Garden Inn-Albany Medical Center. The Golden Knights will square off against Dominican on Saturday, November 13 at 7:00 pm following the Saint Anselm-Holy Family game at 5:00 pm. The following day, Saint Rose will meet Holy Family at 4:00 pm. Saint Anselm and Dominican are scheduled for a 2:00 pm start.

The remainder of the non-conference schedule includes a home date with Concordia on Sunday, November 21 and an appearance at the Adelphi Holiday Tournament on Long Island that is set for Saturday, December 18 and Sunday, December 19. The tournament will also feature Molloy and Dowling.

Five teams, all out of the NE-10, garnered bids to last year’s NCAA Tournament including Bentley, which advanced to the 2010 national semifinals. Defending league champion UMass Lowell earned the conference’s automatic bid; while Stonehill, Saint Anselm and Merrimack were at-large selections.

The women’s non-league schedule is comprised of a pair of road dates and an appearance at James A. Richardson Tip-Off Classic at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania where the Golden Knights will open up against Post University on Friday, November 12. They will then meet either Lock Haven or the host Lions the following day. Saint Rose will also visit Bloomfield on Saturday, November 20 and Bridgeport on Sunday, December 19.

The women’s docket also includes five NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago including two-time defending league champion Franklin Pierce, which advanced to the national semifinals. Pace, Stonehill and Bentley represented the NE-10 as at-large picks; while Bridgeport earned an at-large bid out of the East Coast Conference.

The NE-10 portion of the 2010-11 season gets rolling on Wednesday, November 17 when Saint Rose hosts Assumption in a league doubleheader. The women’s game is set for 5:30 pm, while the men are scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 pm.
