ALTAMONT, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's and women's cross country teams got the 2023 campaign underway today at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Services Panther Open.
Junior
Matthew Waruch crossed the line in first place this afternoon in the men's 5K for the Golden Knights. Waruch posted a winning-time of 17:55.4 to earn the top spot.Â
Sophomore
Robert Deck (19:22.9), junior
Kyle Ostrander (19:34.4), and freshman
Matthew Rogozinkski (20:14.4) also claimed top-10 finishes as well for the Saint Rose men in the season-opening meet.
Freshman
Stephanie James and junior
Brooke Iannone were the top-finishers this afternoon for the Golden Knights in the women's 5K. The pair placed fifth and sixth, respectively, with James crossing in 22:07.3 and Iannone clocking 22:33.7.
The Golden Knights are set to next compete on Friday at the Al Pastore Airfield Invitational at SUNY Oneonta.
