PHILADELPHIA, PA- The College of Saint Rose women's soccer team fought back from a pair of one-goal deficits to earn a 3-2 victory at Jefferson this afternoon.
Junior forward
Mia Klammer, freshman midfielder
Ashley Kieblesz, and junior forward
Olivia Boucher each found the back of the net for the Golden Knights in the come-from-behind victory.
Klammer and the midfield duo of senior
Elina Seppälä and freshman
Sydney Myers also recorded one assist apiece to help facilitate the Saint Rose offense.
After the Rams opened the scoring in the 12th minute of action, Kieblesz would answer for Saint Rose only 26 seconds later, as she knocked home a headed-pass from Myers inside the box to provide the Golden Knights the equalizer.
The action stayed level at 1-1 until the 57th minute when Devin Sullivan punch in a loose ball in front of the Saint Rose net to propel the Rams back ahead. Jefferson would maintain the one-goal advantage for the next 13 minutes, until Klammer brought the margin back even at 2-2 after combining with Seppälä to perfectly execute a free kick on the edge of the box.
Klammer also provided the assist on Boucher's go-ahead strike with 16 minutes left. Klammer beat several Ram defenders off the dribble before delivering a cross to Boucher for the game-winning goal.
Saint Rose returns to action on Wednesday evening, as the Golden Knights face Robert Wesleyan in the home-opener at Sullivan Field. Kickoff is set for 6:00 pm.
