COLONIE, NY – The College of Saint Rose hosted its lone home meet of the season as the two squads ran in the Sixth Annual Golden Knights Joust on a wind-swept Friday afternoon at The Crossings of Colonie. The Saint Rose men finished second out of seven teams while the women were fifth among eight complete squads.
Bentley won both team titles going away. The Falcons' men contingent sent the first six runners across the line, while the women's squad had four of the top-seven swiftest times. Bentley sophomore Rob Dextradeur ran a meet record 25:49 to take the men's individual championship, while Southern New Hampshire junior Emma Lundberg broke the tape in the women's race behind an 18:42 clocking.
On the five mile men's course, junior
Macky Lloyd and sophomore
Nathan Bub led the way for the Golden Knights who were all running at a workout pace in preparation for the upcoming postseason portion of their schedule that commences in two weeks. Lloyd and Bub finished 20th and 21st respectively in a field of 84 entries with identical times of 27:41.

Peter Bloem and senior
Tyler Gantz placed 27th and 28th with times of 28:33 and 28:34 respectively. On their heels was another Golden Knights duo as senior
DJ Racette and junior
Dan Gargaro placed 34th and 35th with identical times of 28:44. Sophomores
Brandon Krupunich and
Mike Murtagh also finished in the top 50 runners, coming in 40th and 44th with 29:14 and 29:23 respective performances.
In the women's race, reigning Northeast-10 Conference Women's Athlete of the Week, sophomore
Ashley Jackman finished 18th among 66 runners by covering the three mile trek in a personal best 20:31. Matching that clocking was senior
Meaghan Lucie. Meanwhile, sophomore
Emma Cohen and freshman
Samantha Capece were 22nd and 23rd with times of 20:39 and 20:40 respectively. Close behind the latter pair with matching times of 20:48 were sophomore
Dana Welch and freshman
Ashley Smith who crossed the line in the 25th and 26th positions.
The remainder of the Saint Rose contingent finished no worse than 34th as the quartet of sophomore

Melissa Gordon and sophomore
Grace Giampaglia finished in consecutive order with times ranging from 21:12 to 21:17.
The Golden Knights have next weekend off before preparing in earnest for the upcoming NE-10 Championships that are being hosted by Stonehill College in Easton, MA on Sunday, November 7.
