Junior Macky Lloyd (center) and sophomore Nathan Bub helped Saint Rose take second at today's Golden Knights Joust.
COLONIE, NY – The College of Saint Rose hosted its lone home meet of the season as the two squads ran in the Sixth Annual Golden Knights Joust on a wind-swept Friday afternoon at The Crossings of Colonie. The Saint Rose men finished second out of seven teams while the women were fifth among eight complete squads.

Bentley won both team titles going away. The Falcons' men contingent sent the first six runners across the line, while the women's squad had four of the top-seven swiftest times. Bentley sophomore Rob Dextradeur ran a meet record 25:49 to take the men's individual championship, while Southern New Hampshire junior Emma Lundberg broke the tape in the women's race behind an 18:42 clocking.

On the five mile men's course, junior Macky Lloyd and sophomore Nathan Bub led the way for the Golden Knights who were all running at a workout pace in preparation for the upcoming postseason portion of their schedule that commences in two weeks. Lloyd and Bub finished 20th and 21st respectively in a field of 84 entries with identical times of 27:41.

Running side-by-side, freshman Peter Bloem and senior Tyler Gantz placed 27th and 28th with times of 28:33 and 28:34 respectively. On their heels was another Golden Knights duo as senior DJ Racette and junior Dan Gargaro placed 34th and 35th with identical times of 28:44. Sophomores Brandon Krupunich and Mike Murtagh also finished in the top 50 runners, coming in 40th and 44th with 29:14 and 29:23 respective performances.

In the women's race, reigning Northeast-10 Conference Women's Athlete of the Week, sophomore Ashley Jackman finished 18th among 66 runners by covering the three mile trek in a personal best 20:31. Matching that clocking was senior Meaghan Lucie. Meanwhile, sophomore Emma Cohen and freshman Samantha Capece were 22nd and 23rd with times of 20:39 and 20:40 respectively. Close behind the latter pair with matching times of 20:48 were sophomore Dana Welch and freshman Ashley Smith who crossed the line in the 25th and 26th positions.

The remainder of the Saint Rose contingent finished no worse than 34th as the quartet of sophomore Katie DiBello, freshman Brittany Papuzza, senior Melissa Gordon and sophomore Grace Giampaglia finished in consecutive order with times ranging from 21:12 to 21:17.
