ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose will take part in the Take A Kid to the Game (TAKG) program on Saturday, April 20 in conjunction with the College's Community Service Office.
All area children are invited to the
Christian Plumeri Sports Complex to see the Golden Knights baseball team host the University of New Haven in a noon doubleheader. Meanwhile, the men's lacrosse squad takes on Assumption College at 1:00 pm. Admission to all contests is free for the opportunity to view a trio NCAA Division II contests at Bob Bellizzi and Sullivan Fields.
Saint Rose is one of more than 200 schools from every NCAA division across the nation to host a TAKG event this year, which is focused on allowing youth the opportunity to attend college games at no charge. The program is entering into its 18th year in the promotion of collegiate athletics.
As part of this special day, children will be able to take part in a sports carnival from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm that introduces them to various sports at facilities that will host collegiate contests on the same day. Each child in attendance will have an opportunity to meet Saint Rose student-athletes and will also receive a slice of pizza as part of their game day experience.
TAKG is a nationally recognized grassroots program developed, owned and managed by
IMG College, a division of IMG Worldwide; the world's premier sports, media, and entertainment company, to encourage adults, alumni and fans to take children to intercollegiate athletic events.
